for Visitors

Come to visit, stay for a journey...

Attending a new church can be a trying experience – what door do I enter? Will people be friendly? Will they leave me alone if I just want to be anonymous? Will I know what to do during the service? We want visitors to feel at home and welcome at First Presbyterian Church (FPC), and hope the following information will help.

Parking
When you arrive at the church, there is parking on the street, or in our lot on the corner of Wall and 6th. Parking is also available in the YMCA parking garage (just north of our parking lot). Handicap spaces are provided on Pearl Avenue, and there is a ramp entrance off the alley on the east side of the building, near the parking lot.

Entering
The main entrance to the Sanctuary is on 6th Street (with the big white pillars). You may also enter from Pearl Avenue. If you enter there, please use the south double doors (the ones closest to 6th). Once past the office, you go through the double doors and turn right into the Sanctuary. Please be aware that you will be entering facing the congregation from those doors. If you enter at the ramp entrance, the Sanctuary would be immediately to your left after entering that door. There will be greeters at the main doors to the Sanctuary, and ushers at all other doors. The ushers will give you a bulletin containing details about the order of the service. You will know to stand during the service if a line in the bulletin is preceded by an *.
